2022 ISSCC Jan Van Vessem Award for Outstanding European Paper
In the 2023 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), members of the Energy Efficient Circuits and IoT Systems (EECIS) group, Youngwoo Ji, Jiawei Liao, Sina Arjmandpour, Alessandro Novello and Prof. Taekwang Jang received the ISSCC 2022 Jan Van Vessem Award for the outstanding European paper, together with a collaborator, Jae-Yoon Sim, of Postech.

The paper proposed a new on-chip oscillator topology, R-RC oscillator, that achieves second-order temperature compensation and less than 8 ppm/°C temperature dependency in a wide temperature range from -40°C to 125°C. Also, it proposed a delay-locked loop that samples the R-RC transition waveform to make the period of the oscillator independent of the comparator delay. You can find more information about the paper external pagehere.

2022 ISSCC Outstanding Forum Speaker Award
Prof. Taekwang Jang, group leader of the Energy Efficient Circuits and IoT Systems Group, was honored with the 2022 ISSCC Outstanding Forum Speaker Award for his speech on "Sensor Interface, Analog, and Mixed-Signal Circuits for Miniaturized IoT Devices." The presentation discussed the challenges and innovations in designing IoT systems and highlighted Prof. Jang's expertise and contributions to the field.

2022 SSCS Outstanding Chapter Award
The Solid-State Circuits Society Switzerland Chapter received the 2022 SSCS Outstanding Chapter Award at the 2023 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC). Prof. Taekwang Jang (chair), Michel Bron (vice chair), Mathieu Coustans (secretary), and Domenico Pepe (industrial relation coordinator) have led the chapter offering various seminars, lectures, and social events for the IEEE members, students, and local community.

IEEE SSCS Predoctoral Achievement Award
Mr. Alessandro Novello, a Ph.D. candidate under the supervision of Prof. Taekwang Jang, received the 2022-2023 SSCS Predoctoral Achievement Award. The SSCS Predoctoral Achievement Award is an annual award given by the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS) to recognize and honor outstanding achievements by predoctoral students in the field of solid-state circuits. It is based on the evaluation of a student's research achievements, academic record, and potential for future research contributions.

Overall, the awards and recognitions presented at the 2023 ISSCC highlight the significant contributions and achievements of researchers, designers, and organizations in advancing the field of solid-state circuits and systems. These developments represent important steps towards more energy-efficient, innovative, and sustainable solutions for the future.

Congratulations!
