Master's student Joudi Hajar receives GE Impact Award

Joudi Hajar, Master’s student in Robotics, Systems and Control, receives the „GE Impact Award“. Supervised by Prof. Florian Dörfler, she supported the development of a novel tool that designs a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) at the lowest cost possible.

by Katja Abrahams-Lehner

Joudi Hajar's work involved generating significant amounts of data in a novel way and implementing different machine learning and optimization algorithms. With this methodology, the computational time of finding a feasible design was reduced by half.

She started her Master's studies at ETH in September 2020. Before completing her internship at GE, Joudi did her semester thesis in spring 2021 in the Automatic Control Lab under the supervision of Professor Florian Dörfler.

Congratulations!
