European Conference on Computer Vision, Sept 6 to 12, 2014
Led by the ETH professors Marc Pollefeys (D-INFK) and Luc Van Gool (D-ITET) the conference will be hosted for the first time in Switzerland this year (at ETH Zurich and Kongresshaus Zurich).

At the NCCBI (National Competence Center for Biomedical Imaging) yearly meeting in Lausanne, Carolina Arboleda, PhD student at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI), has been awarded the NCCBI Young Investigator Award.
Swiss Dialect App - Developed by D-ITET Master Student
A new App helps to type short messages in Swiss Dialect. Laura Peer, Master Student at D-ITET, has developed the program over the last five months as her Master thesis in the Computing Group.
Shanghai Ranking: ETH Zurich in Top 20
This year’s Shanghai Ranking has just been published, with ETH taking 19th place – it therefore remains the best university in continental Europe.
Best Paper Award for Prof. Luca Benini et al.
Awarded was the paper "Speculative Synchronization for Coherence-free Embedded NUMA Architectures" by Dimitra Papagiannopoulou, Tali Moreshet, Andrea Marongiu, Luca Benini, Maurice Herlihy, R. Iris Bahar (cooperation between Brown Univ. & ETH Zurich).
