Master in Micro- and Nanosystems

Micro and Nano Systems are systems or devices that integrate electronic and non-electronic elements and function on the micro or nano scale. Education in this field concentrates on the synthesis of electrical and mechanical engineering. Micro and Nano Systems engineers need to master fundamental theoretical knowledge and application-specific aspects of materials and their properties, quantum mechanics, novel properties of devices, system integration, and modelling and simulation.
Well-established companies, start-ups and emerging industries that utilize technology and system integration require a new generation of engineers who are familiar with a broad range of natural and engineering sciences. These engineers must create and drive innovations for new business opportunities.
ETH Zurich’s Master of Science programme in Micro and Nanosystems prepares students with the knowledge and skills needed to meet these challenges. We provide a solid education for today’s and tomorrow’s micro and nanosystem engineers.
The Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering is the leading house for this Master Programme and handles all administrative matters.
