Performance Assessment
All Master programmes at D-ITET comprise several courses, an internship, and project-work(s). The corresponding credit points can only be awarded at the completion of each prescribed assessment.
Depending on the individual curriculum component, various assessment types are designed to assess the students' knowledge and skills; e.g. oral or written examinations, essays and other written papers, confirmation of active in-class participation, or evidence of work performed during self-study. Examination results are given graded marks, while other assessment may be graded as pass/fail or satisfactory/unsatisfactory.
Master examinations are always single and take place during the Examination Sessions. There are two four weeks examination sessions each year, in January/February and August/September. The Rectorate (Prüfungsplanstelle) is responsible for their organization (enrolment and withdrawal as well as planning).
Examinations can be repeated only one time and must be passed within the permitted duration of study.
