Master in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
This master programme is the modern version of the classical "Electrical Engineer ETH"; it is the normal continuation of our bachelor programme and it is therefore also called the "Consecutive Master Programme".
In addition, this master programme is the preferred path towards our PhD programme for students from outside ETH.
The programme consists of courses, two Semester Projects and a Master Project. In addition, an internship in industry is recommended. All courses and the two Semester Projects are usually completed in two semesters. The Master Project takes additional six months (full-time).
The internship can be carried out any time before the beginning of the Master Project.
Each student has a tutor, who helps with the selection of courses. The courses permit a specialisation in one of the following areas:
- Communications
- Micro and Optoelectronics
- Computers and Networks
- Systems and Control
- Electrical Power Systems and Mechatronics.
However, courses can be selected freely, subject to approval by the tutor.
