Health insurance
Under Swiss law, anyone who lives in Switzerland for more than three months must have Swiss health insurance cover.
Please refer to the Rectorate or contact the joint association for legal advice to students of University and ETH Zurich.
Language
German lessons
It will be difficult for students to cope in and outside the ETH Zurich without a basic knowledge of the German language. We recommend that students learn German if they wish to live in Zurich for more than a few weeks.
The Language Centre of the University of Zurich and the ETH Zurich provides free language lessons for students.
