Study of MTE Subjects (Man-Technology-Environment)

Students must choose from such diverse subjects as Ergonomics and Work Psychology, Sociology, History of Technology or Introduction to Law.

The MTE subjects are primarily intended to give future engineers a solid introduction to these domains, to encourage them to educate themselves further and ultimately to enable them to deal successfully with complex systems. They should be able to see technical objectives and decisions, with all the consequences, against a non-technical background.

Starting in fall 2009, credits obtained in the category of Humanities (GESS) may also be used for the category of MTE (but not vice-versa!).

A total of 8 credit points must be obtained in this category.

The relevant subjects (MTE/GESS) can be found in the ETH course catalog.
