Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology

The modern version of the classical "Electrical Engineer ETH" is the Master in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.

The education comprises two steps:

  • the first step (3 years) leads to the Bachelor,
  • the second step (another 1.5 - 2 years) leads to the Master.

Electrical engineers work in fields ranging from wireless internet access to integrated electronic circuits, from control theory to networks of nano-computers, and from power engineering to biomedical engineering. Electrical engineers invent and design much of the "intelligence" (both hardware and software) in cell phones, computers, cameras, automobiles, robots, medical laboratory equipment, etc. Electrical engineers do a lot of programming (of computers and other programmable things), but they usually stay in touch with hardware and physics.

With a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, you may also enter an interdisciplinary master programme.

The bachelor programme is mostly in German.

Details to the bachelor progamme are available via the links on this page and in the Brochure zum Bachelorstudiengang (in German).
