Department Conference
The Department Conference is the D-ITET's most senior body. At Department level, it makes the final decisions on the Department's tasks and, on the recommendation of the departmental management, it decides how resources are to be allocated. It has overall control of the Department's facilities.

The Department Conference comprises all of the elected Professors who belong to the Department and the elected representatives of the other Institute groups.

Professors' Conference
The Professors' Conference expresses an opinion on the business conducted by the Department Conference, usually in the context of fundamental issues relating to the Department's tasks. In addition to making proposals for conferring the title of professor, the Conference also assesses applications for academic awards and promotion to professorial status.

The Professors' Conference comprises the elected professors who teach in the D-ITET.

Teaching Commission
The Teaching Commission deals with all teaching-related matters and regularly expresses an opinion on the way courses are run.

The Teaching Commission comprises four elected members from each one of three Institute groups, namely lecturers, non-professorial teaching staff and students.

Examiners' Conference
The Examiners' Conference makes the final decision on the marks students receive for their first and second year examinations, the results for the Master’s Degree and makes proposals to the Rector as to the award of degrees. It also appraises proposals to award the ETH Medal to students receiving degrees and submits its findings to the Rector.

The Examiners' Conference comprises the examiners working at respective levels of the examination system. It meets after each examination session.
