IT Committee (KIM)
This committee deals with the planning of the Department’s ITC  (hardware, software) infrastructure used in teaching, research and administration.

Responsibilities of KIM

• Planning (concepts of usage of the IT infrastructure)
• Coordination of purchases
• Consultation for purchases; mainly provided by the IT Support Group (ISG)
• Coordination of operations (mainly through ISG)
• Representation of the department towards the Computing Services Zurich of ETH Zurich
• Consulting services to the Department Management

Composition
The KIM is a brains trust, meaning that its members are not elected to represent organisational entities. Only members of the Department who are involved with IT usage planning can be elected. The election committee is the departmental conference. This Conference also elects the Chairman.
