Michael D. Breitenstein won the Innovation Award 2009

Michael D. Breitenstein and other researchers from the Computer Vision Lab won the Innovation Award 2009 of the Information Technology Society of Electrosuisse for their research project.

The algorithm estimates motion patterns of persons from live video by finding and tracking an unknown number of people, without any other information than the pure image. This makes it suitable for a wide range of different applications like traffic security, visual surveillance, robot navigation, sports analysis or entertainment industry.
